BE A FRIEND!
BE A FRIEND!
For more than 50 years, the Friends have worked as a nonprofit, volunteer group to support the Bonita Springs Library. In fact, we've grown to be the largest supporter of an individual library in Lee County. Each year, we sponsor hundreds of in-library activities, fund the summer reading program, contribute to the Southwest Florida Reading Festival, and much more.
The Friends are a fun, friendly group that welcomes whatever time, energy and charitable donations you can give. We raise funds through community book sales and the Book Nook inside the library.
We do not operate the library, but instead work with library staff to offer programs and events beyond what the Lee County budget can provide.
Although our Library Book Nook remains closed due to COVID, we are still accepting donations of gently used items. We do not accept encyclopedias, magazines, damaged items, or loose disks without their original cases/packaging. Please CONTACT US and we will arrange a pickup or a delivery location for your generous donations.
The Friends are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax-deductible as provided by law.
You can make a gift in your name or honor a friend or family member with a tribute or memorial gift in any amount.
You can also make legacy gifts as part of your estate plan. Consult your financial advisor for advice.
Whether you're a full-time or seasonal resident, the Friends can use your help. No special experience is necessary.
Volunteers help staff the Book Nook and book sales. They also help with fundraising and encourage others to join the Friends.
If you’d like to volunteer or serve on a committee, please email Friendsofbonitalibrary@gmail.com.
Our Board of Directors guides us toward fulfilling our mission of promoting the library's welfare and growth, enriching its resources, and broadening its use. The Board also acts as a liaison between the Friends and library administration.
